Council Calendar

Important Updates

Temporary Council Service Center/Store Hours. The Council Service Center/Store will have modified hours and limited services available. Please Call the Council Service Center for additional information at 570-784-2700. The days/hours are:

  • Tuesday, June 7 — Closed

  • Wednesday, June 8 — 1 - 7 pm

  • Thursday, June 9 — 1 - 6 pm

  • Tuesday , June 14 — 1 - 6 pm

  • Wednesday, June 15 — 1 - 7 pm

  • Thursday, June 16 — Closed

The hours and services will return to normal the week of June 20th.

Fall Product Sales Training Date Change: The June 9th date has changed to multiple dates. The trainings are free and will start at 7:00pm at the Council Service Center on June 29, July 14, and July 18. The training is for all popcorn kernels and must be attended by at least one unit representative to be earn an additional 1% commission. Please register by calling the Council Service Center or register online by selecting the training on the Council Calendar.

Camp physicals for Scouts and Scouters will be available on a First come first serve basis FREE of charge at the Camp Lavigne Health Office on the following dates and times: (You do not have to sign up just come during these hours).

  • Thursday, June 9 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

  • Friday, June 10 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

  • Monday, June 13 — 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

  • Saturday, June 18 — 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

  • Sunday, June 19 — 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

  • Monday, June 20 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

  • Tuesday, June 21 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

  • Wednesday, June 22 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

  • Thursday, June 23 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

  • Friday, June 24 — 9:00 am to 12:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The Eagle Scout Recognition Brunch (June 18, 2022) will be at Camp Lavigne in the Dining Hall starting at 8:30 am. Registration is $18/per person. Eagle Scouts from the Class of 2021, their Scoutmasters, and our Honorees attend as a guest. The Columbia Montour Council would be grateful if to anyone who could sponsor one or more of our Eagle Scouts or special guests for $20.00. As a special thank you for each guest sponsored you will receive a limited edition Eagle Scout Class of 2021 Council Shoulder Patch. Wilderness Living program is back this summer at Camp Lavigne July 10th-16th. Come advance your wilderness survival skills to the highest levels! Keep an eye out here on the website for registration. It’s open to all scouts that are at least 14 years old and first class rank. Scouters are welcome too!

Upcoming Events

Annual Eagle Scout Recognition Ceremony (June 18, 2022): The Eagle Scout Recognition Ceremony will be held at Camp Lavigne on Saturday, June 18th. This event will honor several different individuals such as Dr. Victor Marks and Richard Baker for the Outstanding Eagle Award. There will be many other honorees at this event you won’t want to miss being recognized.

Columbia Montour Council 100th Anniversary Celebration Dinner (June 17, 2023): All are welcome to Celebrate 100 Years of Scouting with Columbia Montour Council at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds Industrial Building starting at 4:00 pm with historic displays followed by dinner at 6:00 and a program at 7:00. Please make your reservations at the Council Service Center by June 2, 2023.

National Jamboree (July 19-28, 2023): 2023 National Scout Jamboree will be held from July 19 to July 28 at the Bechtel Summit Reserve in West Virginia. For more information and registration details visit this link. http://www.columbiamontourbsa.org/News/RegistrationNationalJamboree

Upcoming Due Dates/ Last Days to Register

Annual Eagle Scout Recognition Brunch: Last day to register to attend or to sponsor an Eagle is June 9th. Call the Scout Office to register.

Upcoming Training Courses (Adult & Youth)

Adult

New Council Training Policy: The new policy in effective 1/1/2022 states that all adults prior to the 2023 rechartering in fall of 2022 must have:

  • Completed YPT that does not expire during the upcoming year (Taken yearly)

  • Completed Position Specific Training associated with their chartered position(s) (Take once, never expires)

  • Completed Hazardous Weather Training if a direct contact leader (Taken every 2 years)

YPT (Youth Protection Training): There will be classroom courses available over the summer at the Council Service Center. Thursday, June 21 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm; Monday, July 18 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm; Saturday, July 23 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am; and Thursday, August 11 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. This training is free but please register to attend by selecting the date on the Council Calendar.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation): There are several locations the BALOO training is being taught. July 6-9 at Camp Lavigne after Cub Day Camp in late afternoon/evenings with overnight on July 8 for a cost of $10. Out of Council training is available in October. IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills): There are several locations the IOLS training is being taught, choose one June 26-July 1 during Scouts BSA Week 1 Summer Camp, July 11-15 during Scouts BSA Week 2 Summer Camp, or October 7-9 during Cub Scout Haunted Harvestfest.
